Due to the sophistication of the control system each individual piece can be weighed and subsequently directed to any number of conveyors that will balance the desired weights within a few ounces! The advantage to this process is that desired weights can be more closely met thereby reducing drastically over shipping product. This dramatic reduction in over shipping will save literally millions of dollars in lost revenue! Another wonderful advantage to this sophisticated control system is the versatility that it provides. Many different control sequences can be utilized by some relatively simple programming within the microprocessors. Orderly start-up and shutdown, essential for any type of processing, are also inherent properties of this type of control scheme. One more grand advantage of utilizing this level of technical sophistication is the fact that it allows for remote monitoring. Each motor and each line of processing can be monitored by the plant management at a PC within the plant and, via a fiber optic link, at a PC in the management office that is located in a completely separate building.
